FAQ​

At the moment we are following guidelines from The Ministry of Health here in Belize and international experts as deemed appropriate.  Contact us with any questions you may have that are not addressed here. 

 

​Q: Can I cancel or change my reservation?
A: In most cases we have refunded deposits for guests that had planned to stay with us in March and the rest of the 2020 season.  Currently the Belize airport and borders closed and, if requested, we are refunding any stays during this time.  In a few cases guests have rescheduled and we are very grateful for their flexibility and are looking forward to hosting them once the Belize government feels it is safe to reopen its borders.

Q:  Are you open?

A:  Yes, we are open!  We are currently open for weekend stays and are offering discounted rates via our Weekend Getaway package.  The Belize International Airport is currently closed with plans to open in a phased approach starting on August 15, 2020.  


Q:  Is your restaurant open?

A:  Yes, our restaurant is open for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by reservation.  We are also delivering pre-made meals, snacks, soups and other items on a weekly basis.  Please inquire for further details.


Q: What new cleaning routines/rules does Leaning Palm Resort have now in relation to Covid-19?
A: At Leaning Palm Resort as well as in our on-site restaurant, Wild Canes, hygiene and cleanliness are always prioritized.  We emphasize the importance of good hand hygiene based on recommendations from local health authorities.  You can get the information regarding Leaning Palm Resort’s handling of guest safety here:  Response to Coronavirus

Q: How do we handle food at our restaurant due to Covid-19?
A: As guided by the Ministry of Health we are following their regulations.  All seating in our restaurant is distanced a minimum of 6 feet apart.  We are offering beach side dining on our beach side decks which provide for a lot of social distance.   Menu selections are being communicated from a distance and/or via text messages via FaceBook messenger or WhatsApp.  All team members are required to wear a facemask and in addition to our normal handwashing routines we have added more regular scheduled hand washing protocols.  Coffee service is no longer provided “buffet” style but is room service only.  We are no longer offering our Happy Hour in the bar area but are still offering snacks delivered to you beach side or at a social distanced area of our restaurant.  We have modified our meal plans to allow for the best social distancing situation.  You can learn about the picnic hampers and drink cooler boxes offered from our on-site restaurant, Wild Canes here.

Q: If I checked in at Leaning Palm Resort and it turns out that another guest is ill from the Coronavirus, what kind of help/support can I expect?
A: Our staff is trained to communicate guest illness to management personnel.  LPR Management will take action to ensure guests that are presenting symptoms of Covid-19 obtain appropriate healthcare.  LPR does not have the staff or resources to provide needed medical care required so guests will be requested to check out from LPR to obtain proper care.  LPR Management will help to ensure that these guests are given access to appropriate resources.
