“This place is magical. Everything about it - the scenery, the staff, the excursions. the food, the people - was perfect!”

Belize is a crown jewel carefully carved out by the British over three centuries, located on the Caribbean coast of northern Central America at 17°15′ north of the equator and 88°45′ west of the Prime Meridian on the Yucatán Peninsula. Central America is the isthmus that connects North America with South America. The country shares a land and sea border on the north with Mexico, a land border on the west with Guatemala, and a sea border on the south with Guatemala.
Belize is the only country in Central America where English is the official language. There are other languages spoken including, but not limited to Spanish, German and more commonly Creole.
Belize dollar is locked at $2 BZ = $1 USD. Most places readily accept the USD currency. Large bills (anything above a $20 bill) are a little more difficult to cash, ATMs are available across the country, but unfortunately there is not an ATM machine in Gales Point. Leaning Palm Resort does take credit cards through PayPal.
Subtropical with a prevailing wind from the Caribbean Sea. Average winter temps are 75 degrees and 81 degrees in the summer. Annual rainfall ranges from 50 inches in the north to 170 inches in the south.
