Leaning Palm Resort
On the Beach, Near the Jungle, Far from the Crowd
Where tall tales come true.
Located on an exquisite beachfront, Leaning Palm Resort is your gateway to some of the world’s most exciting fishing. On our intimate tours, you’ll have the benefit of a local guide who pilots a comfortable private cruise boat to remote and prolific spots for fishing the open ocean, reefs, cayes and lagoons. Against the backdrop of the panoramic Belize coastline, you’ll find water teeming with snapper, tarpon, bonefish, barracuda and permit. Come home with a fresh catch and our chef will prepare it for dinner!
Leaning Palm Resort supplies all the necessities: knowledgeable guide, transportation, top-quality spinning gear, bait, licenses, a gourmet lunch for full-day tours, snacks, drinking water and sodas. Beer and wine are available for purchase, as are fishing flies. We ask that fly fishermen bring their own rods and reels.
Reef Fishing Adventure
Your adventure starts on the Leaning Palm Resort dock. Our private cruise boat will take you along the Belize coastline where you’ll cast your line for bonefish, tarpon, permit, snapper and other big catches. You’ll then head towards our favorite off-shore reef to reel in smaller fish and marvel at the azure water. You’ll examine Rendezvous Caye and other secluded spots where you’ll fly-fish and cast with bait. Your friendly guide will be happy share insights about bait, flies, technique – and anything else you want to learn!
Limited to six guests.
Lagoon and River Fishing Adventure
You’ll step into your adventure by boarding a comfortable cruise boat docked at Leaning Palm Resort. After a breathtaking ride along the lush Belize coastline (bring your camera!), you’ll slip into the Southern Lagoon, a quiet fishing paradise surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle. You’ll spy monkeys and birds of every color in the tree canopy, vines dipping into the water and perhaps a curious manatee or two. Your local guide will introduce you to fishing the rivers that feed the Southern Lagoon and the protected Manatee Spring near Gales Point. Eventually, you’ll head to sea via the mouth of the Manatee Bar River to fish the open ocean.
